On the 30 July David Panofsky, Doug Bursnall, Beppe Tararan and Giampaolo Casarotto summitted Pik Lenin (7134m) after 5 -6 ½ hours of climbing from Camp 3 (6100m), the two diabetics stepped onto the summit followed shortly by the two support climbers. The following day the climbers descended from Camp 3 to Base Camp, desending over 2700m and over 10miles to a well earned rest.

One August 4th the next group of climbers; Vittorio Casiraghi, Mauro Sormani and Paolo Cerin will head to out with the intention of summiting and returning to camp 2 via a north face ski descent. The next team lead by Marco Peruffo will then attempt the summit on the 5th. Our thoughts are with these teams.
